Terrapin Systems was founded in 2005 by Michael Ferguson and Chris Becerra.

Michael Ferguson has worked in the networking and data protection industry for more than 15 years. Most recently, he was a Regional Director of Sales at Juniper Networks. Prior to Juniper, Michael was the founder and Vice President of Extreme Networks' IP Carrier Division where he grew the business from conception to $90M in revenue. Michael has also held sales positions as Bay Networks, Wellfleet Communications and Network General.

His experience with both resellers and manufacturers and his reputation as a trusted partner has allowed Michael to develop strong partnerships within the networking and data protection community. These relationships are extremely valuable and are the foundation of Terrapin Systems' success.

Chris Becerra has worked in the networking security and data storage industry for more than a decade. Most recently, he was a Senior Account Manager at Intervision Systems and was awarded "Top" Salesman of the Year 2004. Prior to Intervision, Chris was Senior Account Manager of the IP Carrier Division for Extreme Networks. As a senior member of the IP Carrier Division, Chris managed Extreme Networks' service provider customers and generated over $16 million in revenue annually for the company. Chris has also held sales positions at Network Appliance and Acrom Electronics.
